Family Advocate Services
This nonprofit organization came to TK Major for a site redesign. The old site was a bit my first web page. Major created a lively, inviting theme for the site using inexpensive stock images and simple graphic elements like soft background textures. Drawing on his experience writing advertising copy, he worked to break up long blocks of text and tighten and simplify the language to better reach the broad service audience the clients desired. Since many in the target demographic may have older machines, special effort was made to keep the site usable by those with smaller screens and slower connections.
Data-driven E-commerce
TK Major is responsible for design and maintenance of the data-driven catalog and online retail system for a busy streetware company. He also created their administrative user system, graphics uploader/transfer utility, message board, and links database. We're just finished designing a new E-commerce website for audio gear startup, Solaural Audio. The site offers product information, online catalog and ordering, and will be adding a number of customer service support functions.
TK Major welcomes The Lummox Journal...
We've been chosen to revamp the online version of R.D. Armstrong's Lummox Journal, a magazine devoted to poetry, short fiction, and the arts. The newly redesigned site includes an elegant and efficient template system for content creation. Using a combination of CSS and PHP technology, TK Major designed a flexible, standards-driven content management system that can be updated by inexperienced users but doesn't require database support.
Cox Die Casting, Inc.
This site was designed with XHTML standards compliance in mind and with special attention to low-bandwidth visitors, while still attempting to deliver a contemporary, streamlined look. Special features include a product photo gallery, technical data pages, and RFQ/engineering drawing uploader. TK Major also developed and maintains Cox Die Casting's custom in-house order and production tracking system, leveraging the power of SQL and VB coding to create a feature rich and highly automated system while still permitting in-house oversight and administration using the MS Access database manager.
TK Major welcomes Cannery Row Studios...
We've recently added the Cannery Row Studios art gallery to our client list and we're working with their in house graphic artist to redesign their existing site.In order to facilitate communication with the clients during the redesign phase, we established a password protected administrative message board where they can post messages to us using a WYSIWYG interface and upload images for use on the site with a couple clicks.
We integrated a Google-powered, user-updateable calendar with the site, so that the clients can add events from anywhere on the web. Next, we'll be adding a personal blog for the gallery owner.
TK Major had been called in when the site had become inoperable due to a complicated and vexing set of snafus with their former web hosting service. We were pressed into service to untangle the mess and get them back in business. We look forward to helping them develop an exciting new look and adding additional features.

Special feature: a data-driven standalone podcast player provides a database of song podcasts with direct links to the original blog entries from the player itself. A new database search and sort interface allows users to search for a given word or phrase in titles, separate instrumentals from vocal performances, as well as view the songs in date or alphabetical order.
