  1. Go to Settings<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n
  2. Go to Accounts & sync<\/strong><\/em>
    \n– make sure\u00a0Background data<\/strong> and\u00a0Auto-sync<\/strong> are checked
    \n— same page, down under M<\/em>anage accounts<\/em> locate your email
    \n— below the email name is the sync status (even if it’s ‘on,’ your phone might not be syncing)
    \n— to the right is a circlular Sync<\/strong>\u00a0button with two arrows ‘chasing themselves’; should be green if sync is supposedly ‘on’ — grey if not (and they will be turning if it’s actively syncing)
    \n— tap the Sync\u00a0<\/strong>button and you will go to the\u00a0Data & synchronization\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>details page
    \n—- locate\u00a0Sync Gmail<\/strong><\/em> and uncheck it, count to five or ten and check the checkbox once again
    \n—- use the ‘back button’<\/strong> (physical, hardware buttons at bottom of phone below screen, second from right with ‘up left’ icon on it*), tapping it twice to exit\u00a0Settings<\/em> and return to home screen.<\/li>\n
  3. Find your Gmail icon<\/strong><\/em> on your home screen and tap it to open\u00a0<\/em>the Gmail app
    \n– use the hardware\u00a0Menu Button<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>at the bottom of the phone (below the screen, second from left, four tiny squares*) to open the Gmail menu which will cover the bottom of the Gmail screen. First panel-button will be\u00a0REFRESH<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>(with two arrows ‘chasing’ each other). TAP THAT.
    \n-Use the hardware\u00a0‘back button’<\/strong>* to exit Gmail.<\/li>\n
  4. WAIT…<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>It can take 15, 20 minutes or more for sync to kick in and start refreshing your email on your phone. Best to do something else and come back in a half hour or so to check to see if things are updating.
